All timber construction (ICLC, CLT, Gluelam), with outdoor/indoor gantry crane. Crane allows for material delivery through covered drive-under hatch, and for transportation of projects from indoor assembly spaces to outdoor project area and interior exhibition space. Passive ventilation uses southern winds for summer cooling, while smaller programmed spaces on the northern side of the building serve to insulate the open workshop area from the winter chill. Acrylic strips are integrated into the southern facade to serve as channels for indirect illumination.
